Plaquex® Q & A

Can Plaquex® help with Atherosclerosis and High Cholesterol?

This treatment has been proven to help most people lower their cholesterol and manage their atherosclerosis. Plaquex reduces LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels while increasing HDL Cholesterol levels. Plaquex® activates the enzyme LCAT (Lecithin Acyl Cholesterol Transferase) which esterifies cholesterol, including deposits in plaque, enabling HDL to take it up and remove it from vascular walls and eliminate it through the liver. Studies show that LDL cholesterol levels can be lowered up to 31%, Triglycerides can be lowered by up to 25%, and HDL levels increased by up to 45% in a 12 month period. The initial values, route of administration, Plaquex® dosage, and duration of the treatment determine these amounts.

An important factor in the development of atherosclerosis is lipid peroxidation. A close relationship was found between lipid peroxidation and increased platelet aggregation. Studies show a decrease in lipid peroxidation parameters when Plaquex® is applied. Plaquex® reduces LDL oxidation as well.

How is Plaquex® administered?

Plaquex® is administered intravenously. You don’t have to go to another location as the clinic is fully equipped to administer the IV on site. IV therapies usually take about 60 minutes per visit. Depending on how high your cholesterol levels are and your personal goals, you will come back weekly for a new dose of Plaquex® for a prescribed number of doses.

What can I expect from a Plaquex® consultation?

An initial consultation will help you learn more about Plaquex® and other anti-aging treatments and whether or not they are a good fit for you. You will receive an in-person physical exam and have your blood drawn to assess your current overall health, including an analysis of your current triglyceride and cholesterol levels. You will also be able to go into deeper depth about your personal goals and desired results with a medical provider. We then create a personalized treatment plan specific to your circumstances and body.

When you start any IV Therapy with us, follow-up office visits are free and it’s only $99 for any required bloodwork at your initial evaluation and any needed follow-up labs, if done at our clinic. The practice also offers very competitive rates on all its IV Therapies to make these beneficial therapies as accessible as possible for everyone in our community.
